About Anna León

Anna León grew up in Los Angeles listening to tango music at her grandparents’ Argentine barbecues, and she started drawing floor plans and interior perspective sketches when she was just 8 years old. After getting a degree in interior design, she deferred her career for her new-found love of teaching tango. For the next 6 years she split her time between touring the US and living in Buenos Aires, finally settling down in Richmond in 2017, and creating her space in the design world.

After working for a few interior design firms in Richmond, Anna started her own turn-key interior design company, Haus of León, in 2020. Her design process helps her clients understand that whatever they like is ok, whatever they need is ok, and whomever they are is ok and worthy of comfort and joy.

Anna cares about creating the community, caring deeply about her employees’ happiness, and helping her clients find their way home. "One client told me that my projects don’t look like a designer was there at all, but that the clients just have really good taste. I loved this compliment. If I leave any of myself behind in a project, it’s only in composition, a satisfying mood, musicality, and an elevation of my client’s own taste." Anna married an Argentine tango dancer in 2022, and after winning a national championship title in 2023, the two of them now are building a tango school here in Richmond. She is now searching for the perfect balance between her two careers, and excited to share tango with Richmond in a bigger way than she ever imagined.
